Please join us for an engaging session focused on understanding poverty, homelessness, and building trust with vulnerable populations, featuring insights on local resources and best practices. The aim of Boyle Street Academy of Understanding (BSAU) is to help foster compassion by teaching people about the lived experiences of poverty and homelessness and to help individuals build relationships across communities.

The learning objectives for this session include:

1. Develop an understanding of Boyle Street’s role in the community and their values
2. Review and reflect on the lived experience of someone experiencing poverty and/or homelessness
3. Discuss the impact of stigma and unconscious bias on our interactions with vulnerable people
4. Review the tips and tricks taught to Boyle Street staff on building trust with vulnerable individuals
5. Review de-escalation and triggers as it applies to interaction with vulnerable populations
6. Review and discuss local resources and ways to partner with Boyle Street
7. Q&A
