Join us for the second session in the Downtown District Energy Initiative (DDEI) series, hosted at The Switch, where we move from strategy into real-world application. This technical building tour will provide attendees with a firsthand look at the infrastructure, planning, and system upgrades required to prepare a building for connection to district energy.

This session is designed for building owners, managers, and technical teams who want to better understand what it actually takes at the building level to enable district energy integration, including capital planning considerations, system modifications, and operational readiness.


What You’ll Experience:

Attendees will tour The Switch and see the ongoing capital planning and infrastructure work required to prepare for district energy connection. This is a live and evolving process, offering a rare opportunity to view implementation in real time rather than theory.

You will also hear directly from:

• Engineering and technical experts from the City of Edmonton
• District energy and building systems specialists involved in planning and execution

These presentations will provide practical insight into the technical requirements, coordination challenges, and long-term planning needed to support district energy readiness across existing buildings.
