What will you do?

  • Oversee the Downtown Workspace Optimization project, make strategic and operational decisions, and lead a diverse team of 3 to 8 internal staff, including Project Managers, Project Coordinators, a Communication Manager, and external consultants and contractors.
  • Implement project management systems and proven methodologies to optimize project delivery, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the planning, design, and delivery stages of the project and actively involved throughout the project lifecycle. This encompasses strategic planning to guide the choice of project methodologies and the creation and execution of implementation plans.
  • Identifying the required resources and leading the team selection and development process.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a robust and proactive comprehensive communication and change management plan for the project.
  • Taking ownership of each deliverable, objective and outcome.
  • Exercise influence, collaborate with others, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Determine project impacts on elements of the employment relationships (such as hybrid work arrangements, parking, work schedules and work locations). Provide recommendations on changes to policies and agreements to align with the optimized workspace.
  • Foster strong, mutually supportive relationships with internal teams and external partners to drive mutual understanding and achieve shared goals
  • Focus on the team by building a respectful workplace culture through a values-based influencer approach and working collaboratively.
  • Anticipate business opportunities, influence policy, planning and initiatives, and foster a culture of accountability through performance measurement


Qualifications:

  •  Knowledge, training and or education in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Building Sciences, Business or a related field
  •  Experience leading a team with a cross-section of expertise, including project, contract, and change management in a large, complex environment
  •  Experience in the development and delivery of a facility, workplace or office move project(s)
  •  Strong program/project management experience, including an advanced understanding of project management
  •  Strong contract management experience, including selection process, claims management and performance evaluation
  •  Experience developing and implementing communications and change management plans
  •  Combinations of education and experience may be considered

Conditions of Employment:

  •  Hire is dependent on Criminal Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton. There may be a cost associated with this requirement.


Work Environment:

  •  This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite.

Salary: (Annually) $107,747.00 - $153,924.00
