We are currently looking for several Plumbers to join our property management team, that embody our core values of integrity, diligence, stewardship, authenticity and investment . This role performs work essential to the maintenance of Civida’s properties, and primarily installs, diagnoses and repairs plumbing/heating equipment, fixtures and related mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide journey-level plumbing and heating service repairs, preventative and corrective maintenance activities in residential buildings.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and gas systems (including pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues with precision
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
- Measure and lay out reference points for installation in an accurate manner.
- Verify and prepare materials required for projects, ensuring accurate material type and quantity.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and other specifications to comprehend the project requirements prior to commencing work.
- Inspect plumbing systems, troubleshoot, identify issues or potential problems.
- Install sinks, bathtubs, toilets, and water heaters
- Respond to and address callouts and emergencies
- Prepare work costs estimates on time and materials
- Maintain parts and supplies inventory
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing exceptional customer service.
- Complete work orders and purchase orders in Yardi and maintain up-to-date work order reporting.
- Ensure tenant charge backs or vendor charge backs are documented on work order.
- Provide information from inspections regarding maintenance needs to Manager, Trades and Property Manager.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications - Minimum and Preferred (Education, Certification, Degree, Concentration, Skills, Knowledge, etc.):
- Valid Journeyperson Plumber and gas fitting License
- Minimum 3 years’ service plumbing experience
- Backflow ticket (not required but preferred)
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems
- Familiarity with HVAC systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams
- Experience and knowledge of plumbing and gas related building codes and regulations including legislation and policies (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations, First Aid and CPR standards)
- Experience with computer information and tracking systems and business productivity tools (MS Office software)
- Experience with reading blueprints and specifications
- Experience with accurately estimating plumbing and gas fitting resources to complete larger scale projects
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with plumbing work
- Exhibit strong personal values, integrity and hands-on work habits
- Comfortable with managing multiple projects and multi-tasking
- Experience with safe operation and maintenance of relevant tools and equipment
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to interact with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Strong computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office programs
- A Valid Driver’s License and Driver's Abstract is required. Note: Use of a personal vehicle for work purposes may be required for the first couple of months (mileage reimbursed). Tools will be provided.
