Paralegal, Litigation Support Specialist

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently inviting qualified candidates with a minimum of 3 years of litigation experience and a minimum of 2 years of direct experience with litigation software who are interested in joining the Litigation team in our Edmonton office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, well-developed interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a positive and professional attitude.

Hours of work are 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizing technology, such as iPro and Casepoint, to support the Litigation department
  • Design, implement and maintain the litigation database(s), establishing data entry protocols for quality control
  • Data entry and data management duties, including opening files in software
  • Technical aspects of document organization and control, including assigning access and e-discovery
  • Prepare documents for production, including Affidavits of Records
  • Assist in the preparation of documents and exhibits for trial
  • Train users in database use and document management specific to the practice area
  • Others duties as assigned

TECHNICAL ASSETS

  • Must have working knowledge in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams
  • Must have working knowledge of iPro, Casepoint or other Litigation software
  • ACUMIN knowledge an asset
  • Net Documents knowledge an asset

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, including a minimum of 2 years direct experience with litigation software (iPro preferred)
  • Be a graduate of an accredited legal assistant program
