At ATB, we exist to make it possible for our clients, team members and communities. Our purpose is more than aspirational. It's a real commitment we live every day through our values (what we call the ATB ID).

Life at ATB is about more than work. In fact, we’re consistently recognized as one of Canada's top employers thanks to our high-care, high-performance culture, upheld by the three commitments we make to our team members:

Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities.

Thrive together: We want you—the unique, authentic you—to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.

Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Facilities, the North Region Maintenance and Facility Asset Manager maintains and enhances the physical condition of ATB's facilities within one of three regions, ensuring they meet Facility Condition Index (FCI) goals while providing a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for both clients and team members. This role is crucial to the People Places & Spaces (PP&S) team as it ensures that facilities remain operational and aligned with ATB’s high standards for both client satisfaction and team member well-being.

In this role, you will directly impact the client and team member experience by ensuring that ATB locations are well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and conducive to both productivity and positive interactions. Your work will contribute to an environment where clients feel secure and valued, and team members can thrive. Building strong relationships with onsite teams is key to supporting a positive client experience and ensuring smooth operations.

PP&S is ATB’s real estate and facilities business unit and leads: real estate strategy, workplace optimization & experience, spatial design, construction, project management, leasing & subleasing management, facilities management & maintenance, asset management, facility operations, occupational health & safety, and physical security. PP&S oversees ATB’s 1.5 million square feet of space and the team is deeply connected to transforming banking through ATB’s client facing locations, and leading the way with corporate workplace transformation, both of which bring ATB’s mandate to life and power possibility for Albertans.

Accountabilities

  • Conduct site visits: Perform audits, inspections, and essential hands-on repairs and small maintenance tasks during scheduled site visits, ensuring all facilities meet operational, experience, and safety standards.
  • System Data Integrity: Own the integrity of the Asset Planning Module data, with a specific focus on facility elements, signage, banking, and physical security equipment.
  • Asset Database: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive building asset inventory and ensure all records are current and accurate within the asset management system.
  • Life Cycle Projects: Establish and plan the regional Life Cycle Management program by identifying and prioritizing the life cycle projects for proactive asset management across the assigned region.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee facilities furniture inventory & storage management, including delivering and installing small furniture items across ATB locations as well as managing storage and surplus assets, coordinating the disposition of assets as needed.
  • On-Call: Participate in a non-business hours on-call rotation approximately every eight weeks to respond to urgent maintenance needs.
  • Travel: Commit to weekly travel across the assigned region for 3-4 days per week to complete required and preventative maintenance, audits, inspections and other tasks that support the PP&S team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

We are seeking a candidate with a self-driven, technical, and analytical mindset who can seamlessly operate within a corporate structure.

  • Adaptability to a Corporate Environment: Adept at navigating the complexities of a large corporate structure, understanding how facility operations fit into broader corporate strategies.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills to effectively work with various departments and adhere to corporate policies.
  • Critical Thinking: The ability to connect daily tasks to broader strategic goals, recognizing opportunities for improvements and efficiencies that enhance both client and team member experiences.
  • Technical Knowledge: Technically adept and skilled in construction or relevant trade. Proficiency in asset management software and experience in analyzing data to drive maintenance decisions and project prioritization.
  • Process Development: Proven ability to develop and implement new processes in environments with limited existing frameworks, ensuring alignment with ATB’s business goals.
  • Communication: Strong verbal, written, and graphical communication skills, necessary for educating onsite teams and fostering productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Keen ability to translate corporate strategies to on site teams, and take on site feedback to inform future strategies.
  • Self-Motivation: Highly self-driven and capable of working independently, prioritizing tasks, and managing time effectively to achieve regional and corporate goals.
  • Client and Team Member Focus: A key aspect of this role is ensuring that facilities are maintained in a way that supports client satisfaction and team member well-being. This involves creating environments that are safe, functional, and visually appealing, contributing to positive client interactions and team member productivity. Understanding the specific needs of both clients and team members at each location and tailoring solutions to meet these needs is crucial.

Accreditations and Requirements:

  • Facilities & Maintenance Management Designation (CFM, RPA, FMA, or other relevant) preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in asset management planning and facilities & maintenance management
  • Experience with asset management software
  • Excellent data analysis skills to interpret asset conditions and lifecycle management needs
