Electrician

Location: Edmonton | Position: Journeyman Electrician

Are you a certified Journeyman Electrician with a passion for maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant building systems? At Edon, we’re looking for a dedicated professional to join our team and take responsibility for the electrical systems that keep our client facilities operating at their best.

In this role, you'll perform hands-on electrical repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance across a variety of sites. You’ll read and interpret electrical drawings, respond to service requests, and ensure all work is completed in line with code requirements and building standards. Your work will directly impact the safety and functionality of the buildings we manage.

If you have experience with fire alarm testing and certification, completing electrical work to code, and delivering excellent customer service with strong problem-solving skills, your expertise will be highly valued here. What does your day look like at Edon?

  • Perform electrical repairs and maintenance services in accordance with electrical code specifications, including but not limited to assembling, installing, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and components; testing continuity of circuits; troubleshooting and isolating faults in electrical and electronic systems; and replacing faulty components as required
  • Assist with completing electrical preventive maintenance in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance Program including fire alarm inspections, maintenance and repairs, and emergency lights testing
  • Perform tasks in the improvement of facilities that address building and client issues
  • Read and interpret drawings and electrical code specifications
  • Respond to service requests and emergencies
  • Adhere to Edon’s Quality Management System policies as well as OHS legislation and regulations
  • Interact and establish good customer relationships with client contacts


What do you need to succeed?

  • Holds a Journeyman Electrician certificate in the province of Alberta
  • Aireal Lift, Fall Arrest are a requirement
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean Driver's Abstract
  • Minimum four years operational experience in facility operations
  • Ability to read plans as applied to technical areas
  • Strong communication, customer service and problem solving skills
  • Proven experience in exercising good judgement under pressure
  • Owns basic electrical tools to perform building maintenance and repairs
  • Experience in electronics installation (security systems, cameras, door scanners, data line installation, data line installation, installation and operation of BMS control systems such as Metasys and Siemens) will be considered a great asset
  • Experience with annual fire alarm certification and testing, IR scanning of electrical panels and switches, diagnosing and repairing HVAC electronics and controls and lighting control systems
