PRESENTERS

Adam Morand, President of Alberta Food Security Inc. and CTO of TrustBIX Inc.
Adam is an entrepreneurial technologist passionate about innovation and industrial localisation who is a patent-holder, founder of multiple enterprises in sectors from finance to gaming. He gained critical experience developing IT products for numerous start-ups and working with large data for casinos, eventually applying innovative solutions for banking, networks, and enterprise data systems. He founded Moshpit Entertainment and Bloodmoney Universe, the worlds first platform playing competitive games for cash. In 2015, he founded A4 Systems Corp in 2015. With a goal to support global food security, he became a farmer to better understand the processes of production. He has since collaborated with AgriPlay Ventures and HerdWhistle Technologies to create food technologies for a more efficient world.

Hubert Lau is an award-winning tech entrepreneur having grown several successful companies through what he calls “collaborative economics,” the understanding of motivation to inspire all parties to achieve social and financial success. (TSX-V TBIX) known for its Gate to Plate® solutions within food production and supply chains. Renowned for original thinking, he has led development of unique personal identification technology and introduced industry standard food system reliability, safety, pricing and supply chain innovations. Hubert values collaboration above all and has served on numerous civic, arts and business councils, boards and commissions.

Joshua Lau, President of ThisTown Farms Edmonton Ltd. 

Joshua’s training as a mechanical engineer has made him an expert is efficiency in all aspects of production and processes. He has an impressive track record of increasing profitability through reducing waste and increasing efficiency, including his tenure at Cargill Spruce Grove, the beef patty plant that supplies all of Mcdonald's Canada where he identified bottlenecks and increased efficiency by 5% on the scale of millions of pounds of beef. His drive for efficiency has seen him work across the globe in locales such as India, China, Japan, Egypt, and North America. Joshua is a recipient of the 2023 Alberta Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medal for his outstanding service and contributions to PTSD advocacy and research for first responders. First Response PTSD Foundation, a not-forprofit Joshua started when he was 16, raised significant funding for the expansion of the PTSD treatment facilities at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital.
