Description

BOMA Edmonton is committed to providing its members with high-quality learning experiences. The BOMA Leadership Development Series is a program we are excited to offer you.

This leadership series, presented by KESA, provides the tools and techniques required to deliver the right support at the right time. You will find that this program offers practical, real-world leadership tools that have relevant applications at work, at home, and in your community.

BOMA’s Leadership Development Series is presented in three distinct blocks. Series One explores the foundational elements of leadership through KESA’s Triage Leadership. Series Two builds off Series One and introduces the specific components required to lead in a team environment. Series Three takes an organizational view of leadership and explores the importance of thinking and acting strategically while leading in an environment of constant change. The Leadership Development Series ends with the creation of a personal development plan.

The three series are offered in half-day segments and utilize a highly interactive in-person learning environment.

KESA is committed to providing its clients with high-quality learning experiences, and Triage Leadership is a program that KESA is excited to offer. This leadership development program provides participants with practical, real-world leadership tools supporting people in their Work, home, and community roles. The following overview is intended to provide an overview of Triage Leadership sessions.

Leadership can be viewed as the continuum of working with people at all skill and experience levels. Applying the various Triage Leadership techniques provides the tools to assess a situation and use the best leadership intervention possible.

Triage Leadership focuses on providing participants with tools to give the right kind of leadership.

KESA presents Triage Leadership tools in skill-building modules, beginning with exploring and developing foundational skills.  A brief description of each module follows:

  • Raise the Bar: offers a simple and eloquent model for understanding the leadership mindset and attitude one must consider when leading others. Raise the Bar serves as a foundational element of Triage Leadership.
  • Listen First: presents essential listening skills required for any interaction to be successful. Listen First also serves as a foundational element of Triage Leadership.
  • Triage Guide: utilizes a process to effectively guide people when direction and perspective is required. Guide ensures individuals and teams are clear and confident as they take on new tasks, roles and assignments.
  • Triage Support: provides a framework to promote clarity of choices and actions. It requires a leadership shift to becoming a “thinking partner”. This shift results in improved decision-making, greater accountability and a commitment to action by the people involved.
  • Triage Challenge: introduces a framework for bringing focus to feedback in a manner that promotes learning and growth. Triage Challenge offers an approach to inspiring people to be their best.

Our goal is to provide participants with the support required to apply the skills in their workplace.  Throughout each stage of the learning process, there are opportunities for participants to observe and practice using the skills presented.

Prior to participating in kesa’s Triage Leadership Program, you are invited to complete the attached self-assessment as a means for tracking their learning progress and needs.
