The Security Programs Manager - Specials (SPM-S) is accountable to the Specialized Services Operations Manager (SSOM) for the overall quality of specialized security services being delivered, new and existing staff training and development, and the overall supervision and support of all operational staff within their portfolios.
Job Functions:
First contact for Specialized Services department staff, Mobile Supervisors, and Portfolio Clients in the event of emergency, incident, or inquiry.
Operate as a portfolio client liaison for Specialized Services Unit static security and special event sites.
Act as Event Security Commander or Coordinator during special and VIP events when required.
Required to oversee all aspects of OH&S program on all portfolio and special event sites, including WCB and First Aid reporting, Accident Investigations, and Near Miss Reporting.
Report any health or safety deficiencies on portfolio static security sites identified by Operational Field Directors or Site Supervisors and communicate up the chain-of-command.
Review, approve, and follow up with all incident reports as
Prepare operational resources for new client SSU static sites and special events as necessary.
Facilitate after hours event or special coverage operations in cooperation with the Operational Field Director (OFD).
Assist in developing job position profiles for various roles within the Specialized Services department.
Assist in developing new work schedules based on identification of data driven
Investigate and analyze financial results pertaining to SSU static sites and special events; manage cost of sale margins; overtime and overhead; and provide operational context.
Work with Portfolio Resource Coordinators (PRC) to ensure scheduling resources are available if needed or actively schedule resources in absence of the PRC.
Manage and collect data for KPI’s in different verticals and be proficient with Tracktik logistics.
Develop relationships with all Specialized Services portfolio employees building rapport and demonstrating strong leadership while supporting employee training and development.
Ensure adherence to the policies outlined in Paladin’s Code of Ethics and Employee
Relay disciplinary concerns to the Specialized Services Operations Manager (SSOM) as appropriate.
When required, quote new jobs and/or establish and consult with new clients regarding specialized security services and the “Paladin Difference”.
Conduct new employee interviews for the Specialized Services
Regularly meet with and brief the Specialized Services Operations Manager (SSOM) on ongoing field operations and training classes.
Complete other duties as necessary at the request of the Specialized Services Operations Manager (SSOM).
Job Requirements:
Valid Alberta Security
Valid AGLC ProServe and ProTect Liquor
Prior security experience required at a supervisory or junior management
Working knowledge of appropriate legislation and provincial/national standards on fire safety, security, and protection of privacy.
Valid Class 5 non GDL license with clean 3 year
Must have strong leadership, time management and organizational
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficiency in TEAM Software and Tracktik an
Strong communication skills, both verbal and
Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Protection Officer (CPO) designation through International Foundation for Protection Officers.
Experience in crowd management and event/VIP security at a senior
Basic Emergency Management and Incident Command System I-100
Basic CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) training.
