Permanent Full-Time Position

The Opportunity

We are seeking a ticketed tradesperson with exceptional client service orientation to assist with preventative maintenance and repairs to existing mechanical systems and equipment within their scope of ticketed education. When larger projects are underway, this successful staff member will use their on-the-job experience and training to both work independently, and help other building staff and contractors undertake general repairs.


Please apply if you have: 

  • Completion of Grade 12 and a journeyman ticket as related to the position. (Red Seal designation preferred).
  • A Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a team to maintain, operate and make on demand repairs to large-scale buildings.
  • Physical ability to lift, stand, climb ladders, operate equipment (skid steer) and work in awkward positions.
  • No secondary employment restrictions which would limit the ability or response time to attend to after-hours building emergencies. Applicants must live in Edmonton and surrounding area.


Additional skills and experience which are assets to our Association are: 

  • Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and responding to building alarm panels and codes.
  • Certification to provide Class 4 power engineering (or higher) boiler checks and repair services.
  • Previous experience advising on the feasibility of repairs and related cost estimates, and arranging for vendor quotes if required.
  • Interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Ordering specialty parts and supplies as required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Working as part of a building emergency response/ security team during drills and actual events.
