Dispatcher - Central Services - Edmonton City Centre

  • Take incoming radio, phone and in-person calls, document details and escalate to proper resources
  • Dispatch Security, Cleaning Services and Building Operators to calls as required
  • Dispatch security services to critical facility issues, including medical, fire, and disturbances
  • Provide detailed documentation of activity as called into the dispatch center into event logs
  • Dispatching for emergency situations (EPS, EMS, EFD)
  • Monitor CCTV and provide support to Security Agents responding to calls
  • Oversee facility monitoring systems, and escalate when equipment signals an alarm
  • Communicate and provide regular updates by email distribution groups for all events on the property
  • Provide key access through key control system for employees and contractors
  • Provide contractor sign in / sign out process; sign out equipment as needed to contractors
  • Complete reports and provide information related to a site owned security equipment
  • Contact tenants for critical property concerns related to their tenant space
  • Obtain/file maintenance inspections and equipment audits from team members


  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills for contractor and customer interactions
  • Computer literacy with multiple computer software programs
  • Ability to prioritize work tasks
  • Able to display objectivity and sound judgement
  • Willingness/Ability to learn and retain large amounts of information
  • Possess crisis management skills and work under stressful conditions
  • Above-average observation skills
  • Ability to follow policy and procedure
  • Dependable and professional in all job functions
  • Prior experience in dispatching is an asset
