As the Data Warehouse Analyst, you will support the operation and ongoing maintenance of the Cloud Data Warehouse service. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining data warehouse solutions that supports EPL’s data governance framework and advances our strategic plan.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing and maintaining the data warehouse:
    • ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
    • Data models to support business intelligence and reporting.
    • Pipelines for the movement of data through the data warehouse solution.
  • Documenting data warehouse processes. Contributing to the development of EPL data governance policies and standards (e.g. security, access).
  • Designing and developing queries and reports.
  • Monitoring and optimizing data warehouse performance. Troubleshooting data warehouse issues.
  • Conducting research and providing advice to other information systems professionals regarding the collection, availability and suitability of data. 

As the ideal candidate, you are resourceful and analytical. Your collaborative approach with staff to identify and meet evolving data requirements (e.g. new data sources or extraction opportunities) will be valued.

Job Requirements

:
  • Degree in computer science, information systems or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, including experience in:
    • Data warehousing design and development using Azure Cloud services
    • Design, development, modification, and maintenance of relational and multidimensional database structures
    • Developing ETL processes and knowledge of ETL (extract, transform, load) tools
    • Data modeling and business intelligence applications

Pay Band:
$38.56 - $49.22 per hour*
*Approximately $70,463 - $89,930 per annum based on a 35 hour work week.
Shift differential may apply in accordance with the terms and conditions of the CSU 52 Collective Agreement.

Note:

  • This position will work occasional evening and weekend shifts.
  • Satisfactory background screening is required for this position, which includes a Criminal Record Check/Police Information Check.
  • Candidates who do not meet the job requirements may be considered at a lower developmental classification and pay level.
