Mike and his wife\, Becky\, began working with their friends who were local farmers to educate and bring new ways of sustainable and profitable growing. He has worked with multiple consultants from around the globe and has completed thousands of hours of R&D to create the current prototype Vertical Roots Canada is working with.They are the owners of Vertical Roots (VR). Currently\, the grow space for VR is just under 2000 sq. ft.\, producing close to 1\,000 heads of leafy greens a week with the ability to expand in the space vertically. The company's future vision is to have these farms\, as well as smaller vertical farm models\, inside commercial apartments\, offices\, day cares\, schools\, and seniors living communities. The idea is to have these farms act as a co-op for community associations\, community groups\, as well as create an ongoing opportunity to donate to local Food Banks that are desperate for healthy produce all year round.
